School has begun!

Well...my first two classes are done! and I am currently sitting in the computer lab patiently waiting for 4:30 (only 1 1/4 more hours!) My second class got out early so I did some homework and now I'm informing all of you what I am doing! Clearly I'm bored because no one really cares what I do during my down time at school ;)

Wednesdays are crazy days cause I go straight from one class to another (unless they get out early). My last class gets out at 7:10 so I go from school straight to church. I'm hoping since this is the first day of school my last class will get out early and I can get to church on time :) I have to pick out my church clothes before I go to school because I don't have time to go home. I think that is the earliest my clothes have ever been/will be picked out :)

To end this post I will leave you with a link to my brother's blog so you can see his new apartment!

And now I will stop rambling on about nothing :)

I'm healing up just fine!

Sunday in church I was talking to my soon-to-be-doctor friend, and she said to take the chunk of skin off. This way, bacteria can't grow on the dead skin and hopefully I'll have less of a chance of getting an infection. So I did! and it looks way better. It is still a little sore if I bump the red spots but if I wrap it then I don't bump it as much (obviously) :)

Dad & Evan are building a fence in our not-so-good front yard for Evan to put his goats in

School starts Wednesday! I only have classes Monday-Wednesday and since this coming Monday is Labor Day, I won't have school from this Thursday until next Tuesday. A great start to school in my opinion :)

Here's my schedule of classes:

Bathroom Closet Organization & A Tupperware Steal!

Since I didn't have much going on Wednesday, I decided I would try and organize our bathroom closet

This is what it looked like before:

I used the box that was in the closet already and then found these treasures in the attic:

After cutting the boxes and figuring out where to put everything (and popping a blister), this is what the closet looks like now:

A cheap and easy way to do some organizing! :)

Today, Dad and I went to a tag sale off of Mountain Street. They had a bunch of new Tupperware (still in the wrapping) for sale. It wasn't a huge discount but it was still better than buying it straight from Tupperware.

the set of clear and black contatiners (on left): $50 (reg. $139)
pitchers: $10/each (reg. $19/each)
set of bowls: $15 (not sure of the regular price, so I'm guessing $30)
clear and blue containers (in front): $7.50/each (reg. $16/each)

Total Regular Price: $274

I paid: $110 (actual price was $117.50 but since I bought so much the lady rounded it down)

Some of it is mine, a couple things for my mom, and a few things for David.

I love it when I find deals like this...especially if its Tupperware because I love Tupperware!

Spa Night

Tuesday evening, Leah had the 7th and 8th graders up to her house for "Spa Night." They also slept over. At the beginning, there were appetizers and then they played a game. After the game they started going through the stations. There were feet massages, feet & hand wax dipping, hand massages, whatever it is called when they put the green stuff on your face with the cucumbers, and hair stations.

Here's way too many photos so please enjoy :)

Slipper cookies

The drink

That was enjoyed by all...even those that made it :)

The feet wax dipping thing. It makes your feet so smooth! You dip your foot into the wax three times, then cover with a plastic bag/saran wrap and then put a cloth thing over it. After about 15 minutes you take everything off

What happens when you let Amanda...

play with this?

You get this! :)

Here is a few before and after photos of the hair

All the stations were "run" by sisters. There were two of us that didn't have stations. Myself and Courtney. So I was the photographer and Courtney was my "assistant" :)

I didn't sleep over, but I heard they had a great time!

How to get out of freezing corn

Step 1: Have your Dad husk all the corn

Step 2: Clean enough corn to get two pots of it cooking on the stove

Step 3: Clean some more corn while the corn on the stove is cooking

Step 4: When the corn on the stove is done cooking, pull the pots off the stove and take the corn out so it can cool

Step 5: Empty the pots of water down the drain ( * VERY IMPORTANT* make sure the plug is sitting wrong so that the water doesn't drain)

Step 6: Stick your hand in the water to move the plug so that the water can drain quickly

Step 7: It's your option if you actually touch/move the plug but be sure to quickly remove your hand from the water
** WARNING** WATER MAY BE HOT!

Mission Accomplished!

This is what your hand will look like (well, similar anyway) when you have completed those steps:

I'm still here!

Not much has been going on around here picture wise, which is why I haven't put up many posts lately :)

This morning around 5 am, Mom, David, & Carla left in David's car. It was packed full of Davids stuff because he is going back out to IL for school. You can read about his journey here.

Here's just a couple pictures Mom took Saturday night:

Friday I'm going to Block Island with a bunch of girls and school starts next Wednesday so I have lots to look forward to

Another Birthday Party!

On July 21st, we celebrated my Grandma's 80th birthday. Her actual birthday isn't until August 13th but this weekend worked for all of us. All of her kids and most of her grandkids came to CT and we (her side and Grandpa's side of the family) ate supper at Beni's.

Almost all of us (the last table had 6 of us at it)

Andy & Laura

Grandpa & Grandma

Afterwards, all of us went to U. Doug & A. Jane's for cake.

Grandma's son Phil and his wife Jen

Grandma's son Paul and his wife Trish

Grandma's son-in-law reading her candy poem

Grandma's daughter-in-law Jill and her husband Dennis

Grandma's daughter Jan and her husband Don

The only one missing is Grandma's daughter Sarah and her husband Andy.

Me & Grandpa I mean, Grandpa & I  ;)
