Houseboat Trip Day 4 & 5

My favorite day of the trip!

We had to have the boat back by 9, so after we brought it back and payed, we headed towards Dexter, NY. We met up with Joanna's parents and she went with them to OH.

We had to be at the white water rafting place for 1:00. Once we got there, they had us all get suited up and ready to roll. They tighten the life vests so much, I seriously couldn't take a deep breath if I wanted to. I ended up unclipping it, because I was starting to panic a little :)

On the bus headed to the river!

Before we got into the river and the boat, the guides had to say the safety spiel. All the talk made me a little nervous since it was my first time. "If you fall out of the boat in a rapid, swim aggressively to the side!" Well, that's a problem cause I can't swim aggressively! ;)

The first rapid in the river, we went through a couple times to practice. And it was really fun! The more we went, the more I enjoyed it.

The guide let us out to swim down the river a little ways. That was really fun cause we didn't really have to swim. The life jackets kept us above the water and the river pushed us through the water! :)

At one point, we had to get out of the boat and walk along the edge because there was a waterfall and the guides said it wasn't safe to go over it. This picture was while the guides were checking it out. Rebecca was standing on the side, holding the boat so we didn't accidentally go over it.

Rebecca had her GoPro so she was able to get a video and the pictures above. If you listen very carefully and turn your volume up, you can hear the guide talking in the background.

It was us and another boat. They had more people than we did, and we did better than them! At one point they ran into the rocks :) I think we impressed our guide because we were a bunch of girls, and most of us hadn't been white water rafting before. He wasn't so sure of what he was getting into with a boat full of girls, but he did just fine!

There was a photographer that went along with us on the road and took these awesome pictures.

If we fell out of the boat, this guy here would've been our friend.

Here we are jumping out of the boat. He told us to strike a pose cause the lady was taking pictures.

Nice pose, Heidi

A picture with our guide once we were back at the building.

When we got back, the place had dinner ready to eat. It was an awesome meal!

Friday night we stayed in a cabin (more like a house) across from the St. Lawrence Seaway in Cape Vincent, NY.

There is a lighthouse about 2 miles from the house, so walked there and found this cool rock archway along the way!

And then Saturday we traveled home! This was definitely one of my favorite trips! We were already planning our trip for next year on the houseboat :)
