Our Christmas

Christmas Eve we had our Christmas with just the 6 of us. It pretty much lasted the whole day :)

We got up at the early hour of 9 am. ;) Our tradition is to have creamed eggs on toast for breakfast or dinner, depending on when we are doing presents. We ate our brunch around 10:30 and opened presents after.

We open presents 1 at a time, youngest to oldest. Dad wanted Mom to open this present first. Notice where he is sitting and that he has the pillows stacked up to protect himself. :) It was a candle that Mom had in the cupboard that she already used. :)

One of David's presents from Evan. He had cut his finger on a can while making something, hence the big box of band-aids :)

Evan painted this in his art class.

Mom got us these aprons from the Haiti sale.

Gum anyone? ;)

This is the stitching on the middle pocket of mine. It is all hand-stitched by the Haitian ladies!

Can you guess who we got these from?

After presents, we just hung out for a while and played games. Dad had to go feed the neighbors animals, so him, Mom, David, & Carla went for a walk. I went to my aunts house to feed the fish since they are on vacation.

For dinner, everyone had to make an appetizer. We had shrimp, pigs in a blanket, mexican taco dip, hot pepper jelly on cream cheese with crackers, chicken wings, and stuffed mushrooms. Quite healthy! ;)

It was a nice relaxing day!

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and has a Happy New Year!

An Update and Another Snowstorm!

Remember a long time ago when I asked you guys which picture I should get? Well, I finally decided! See below! :)

I'm super excited about it, it turned out great! I was so excited when I got it that I put it in upside down :)

Anyways...onto the next snowstorm (when are we gonna be done with these anyhow??) All of these pictures were taken through the window, so that's why the quality is kind of poor.

Mom wanted to build a snowman but no one wanted to go out right then. Luckily I was working :) A little later Evan & Carla went out to help.

This is what they ended up with! Mr. Snowman (with a purple scarf) and his dog!

Up next is my trip to OH!

The BIG Snowstorm

That happened in February! :)

This picture was taken Friday morning at 10 AM

2:13 PM

6:42 PM

Shortly after taking the above photo, Carla & I headed up to my uncle & aunts for overnight. We took our van since there was already a lot of snow on the ground. At some points when I was driving I would look over at Carla and just start laughing because I thought we were crazy. We passed about 10 (if that many) cars on our way.

The next morning (Saturday), Mom called me from AZ. Our neighbors son had called and wanted to know if one of us could go over and check on his mom because she wasn't answering the phone. So, Lanae, Leah, and I bundled up and headed out in the afternoon when the roads were a little better. We parked in the other neighbors driveway because our driveway wasn't plowed, and neither was the neighbors that we were checking on. We climbed through the snow up to our house, I got the key to get into her house, and then we tromped over to her house. Needless to say, we got in her house and she was fine! Offering us cookies and everything! :)

Some pictures from around our house after we got back from our neighbors

My car. The lump of snow over to the right of it is my parents car.

Evans car and the paths that we used to walk over to the neighbors.

Evans car (again). All you could see when you looked at it from behind was the tips of the mirrors :)

This photo was taken Sunday morning at 9:40 AM. The driveway was plowed but two of the cars were still under the snow.

Sunday after church Evan & I shoveled the roof off. It took us about 2 hours and I was sore when we were done!

And if you just can't wait to see some photos of my trip to NYC, hop over here!
