Trip #2!
This past Monday, Sarah and I left Ellington to head to New York City. We took the Metro-North in New Haven down to New Rochelle to meet up with Christy. I was a little nervous because this was only my second time doing this (see my first time here) and Sarah had never been before. We had to switch trains in Stamford (that was the part I was nervous about!) but it all went fine! We made it to New Rochelle with no mishaps! :)
There was a surprise waiting for us when we got off the train! Ashley had gone down with Christy on Sunday night. Monday for supper we walked to Applebee's.
After, we walked back to Christy's apartment and sang Happy Birthday to Sarah.
Her "Royal Splendor" cake :)
This is extremely blurry but I'm putting it up anyways because it's the only one I have of her blowing out the candles :)
Ashley left right after that to go home and we played Dutch Blitz (that game is so fun!) and listened to "Golden Oldies" (or something like that). I knew pretty much all of them, right Christy? ;)
A couple pictures taken from the balcony
The green canopy is the entrance to the ER of the hospital that Christy works at.
Tuesday morning, Christy went to work and Sarah and I slept in until 8. We were eating breakfast (still in our pjs, mind you) when Christy came back. She said, "Can you be ready in 15 minutes?" "Uh, sure!" Talk about scrambling! ;)
We took a full island cruise around Manhattan by Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises. They did a good job! It was nice at the beginning, but then it got pretty windy (and Christy almost lost her fingers ;) so we went inside for a little while. Anyways, here's some pictures from the boat ride.
Intrepid
Rebuilding the twin towers. The tallest building is one of them and then the building right behind is the other.
The Statue of Liberty
Ellis Island
Random pictures that I have no clue what they are :)
Here you can see the two twin towers better. To the left of the picture.
Brooklyn Bridge
Domino Sugar (no longer in use)
Trash from the city!
A picture from when we went inside. This was the lowest bridge that we passed. It was only 5 feet above the water, so they had to open it for us.
A picture I took for Dad :)
Times Square!
Need a ride? There's plenty of options! :)

Sarah & I
After Times Square, we walked to Rockefeller Center and a couple other places. We ate lupper (lunch/supper) at a little French restaurant then took the train back to New Rochelle. We walked to Christy's apartment, got our luggage and walked back to the train station and waited for the train to New Haven! We got home around 9 PM Tuesday night.
I'm so glad that we got to go! It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed spending time with Christy & Sarah!
