Houseboat Trip Day 1 & 2

A group of 6 girls went on a short trip up to Canada and took a houseboat for 2 nights in the Thousand Islands.

We left Tuesday evening and drove to NY and stayed at Alice's overnight.

Here we are all ready to go! Little did we know what fun we were going to have!! :)

It took some serious thinking to get all our stuff in the back of the van!

The bathroom. The white square off to the left is the shower. It was the smallest shower I had ever been in! In order to bend over you literally had to stick your rear end out the door...no joke! Also, the drain had no cover on it. It was just a hole straight down to the river.

Our little inlet. :) Only room for one boat here. It took a while for us to get our anchors in, but we got it eventually!

First Day of School

HAHA just kidding!!! :)

First time in a long time (18 years to be exact) I don't have a first day of school!

Finally got this in the mail last week (it only took them 3 months)

Now I can sign my name as Heidi Beutel, BA

I've had many mini trips this summer (with a few more to come). I went on a sister's trip for 4 days a couple weeks ago (pictures to come eventually), this past weekend I was in PA with 11 other people, this weekend I fly to IA with a few other people, and I'm going to Boston for 1 night and then watching the Spirit of America show the weekend of the 13th.

Just using up my days off!

My Birthday

We celebrated my birthday after Mom & Dad got home from vacation. We met them at a restaurant for supper and then we went to the grocery store and I picked out my birthday cake from the freezer section. :)

Newport, RI

A week ago today, I went to Newport, RI with 3 other girls. Kendra & Rita were out from MN visiting friends, but they went to OH for a wedding so I was with Kendra & Rita on Saturday.

The first thing we did was part of the Cliff Walk. There's all kinds of mansions along the way!

We went off the walk to tour the Breakers Mansion. This is one of the gates:

Once you get inside the mansion, they give each person a headset with audio. You push play each time you enter the next room and it tells you all about it. I'm not a big history person, but I still enjoyed it!

Walking along the Cliff Walk

After the Cliff Walk, we ate lunch (more like lupper) in the car since it was raining. After that, we walked around downtown Newport. It ended up clearing up and the sun came out so it was really nice!

We met Lis at Kloter's Ice Cream Barn at 9 and had supper there :) It was a very fun day and I'm glad I got to go!!

Harkness

I'm back! After an unintentional break :) Working full time kinda makes me tired...guess I'd better get used to it. I have to do it for a long time :)

About a month ago, we had some company overnight on Saturday and Sunday night. On Monday, I went into work early and took a half day. My parents, our company, my Mom's cousin and their company drove to my work, picked me up and away we went to the beach!

We stopped at a Subway on the way down and ate at Harkness.

Sailing

This past Saturday I went sailing! I went with Dan & Dorothy, Grandpa & Grandma, and Lanae. I had a blast! It was a great way to relax after having a busy week at work.
