October Birthdays

We celebrated 3 birthdays in October. Carla turned 15 on the 8th. One more year of people being safe on the roads and sidewalks! ;)

David turned 26 on the 19th. Not sure what we did for that...maybe sent something in the mail, send a text saying Happy Birthday. No pictures of this one. :)

Mom turned 48 on the 30th. Mom and Dad went out to dinner that night, so Carla and I went to the grocery store and bought an ice cream cake and a balloon. We also bought this cute birthday hat for her to wear. :)

We used these leftover pieces of crepe paper from another birthday and taped them to the light over the table.

I found a kid's Happy Birthday song on a cd we have, so we put that on repeat and really loud. When Mom walked in, Carla and I sang along with song. Very loudly and just a little off tune :)

As another little surprise for Mom, I got David on Skype so she/we could talk to him.

He even got to help us sing!

Spirit of America - Boston

This happened a long time ago, but I went up to Boston with 8 other girls in September. We drove up Friday night, stayed in a hotel Friday night, and then walked around Boston on Saturday. Saturday evening we watched the Spirit of America of show.

Here's a couple pictures and videos to show you how awesome it was :)

We got there a little early so we could get good seats.

These two thought it was better to sit up higher. I think we had the better seats!

For those who have never been before, they had 4 people as the "narrators" telling us what the next set was. While they were talking, people in black clothes ran out and moved the stuff around and brought out anything that was needed. Then the people in black either ran back out or squatted down along the side of the arena. The people in the set then came out and played their part.

The bands playing at the beginning

These are all from different sections. Not sure what this one was...

American Civil War

Drill Team - this was definitely my favorite part (as you'll see by the number of videos below - but it's so fun to watch). They were so cool!

Thought the shadow in this picture was neat.

At the end, everyone that was in the show came out in their outfits

Afterwards you could go out in the hallway and talk to/take pictures with the people that were in the show.

Photobombed by soldiers! :)

Can you tell I've never held a gun before but Bec probably has? ;)

We had lots of fun and got home late Saturday night
