It's Up!

I just had to pop in and say that my website is officially up and running! Yahoo!

Check it out here: www.designbyheidi.net

Julianne's Shower

Tuesday April 22nd, we helped with Julianne's bridal shower. My part was to make the prizes for the two games. They ended up being a little more expensive than I thought, but if I had gone to Dollar Tree I could've saved some money! Oh well! :)

In each basket is:
1 small metal watering can
1 pair women's gardening gloves
4 packets of seeds (I did 3 vegetable and 1 flower)
To make them I bought clear gift basket bags, brown crimped paper, and ribbon at Michael's. If you want to save the money I was talking about, go to Dollar Tree. They have the bags and a darker brown crimped paper. I got the white curling ribbon there too.

Put it all together, curl the ribbon and tada! You have an awesome prize :) The theme for the shower was springy/gardeny so they went perfectly (obviously the point!)

Dad's 50th Birthday

Almost a month late :)

Dad turned 50 on April 3rd. We didn't really do much for him...just the usual birthday cake and a few presents (from Mom).

His birthday cake and cheesecake (with a piece missing....Carla..)

He had to light his own candles because Mom didn't want to use the matches

And the usual birthday singing video :)

Almost Over FOREVER!

Next week is my last day of classes!! AAAAHHHHHH! :)

Then finals week after that and I am done FOREVER!!!! My finals consist of giving a presentation and uploading our 4 projects to YouTube or Vimeo and sending the links to the teacher.

May 2nd, we have a Senior Design Showcase in the library at school from 4-8 PM. All the students in the senior design class pick some of their best work and put it all on a board to set up at their station. We had to brand ourselves and get business cards printed. I just heard my business cards are ready today, so I'll pick them up tomorrow!

This is my new logo:

We also needed to create a presence online to showcase some of our work and so that people could find us. I bought the domain designbyheidi.net but as you can see, there isn't anything up yet :) Hopefully I'll have something up by next Friday!

Arizona Part 3

The last post of Arizona pictures! On Saturday we hiked the Seven Falls in Tucson.

This picture is for Evan

We rode the tram up as far as we could and then started walking on the trail. I forget exactly how long it took us, but it was around 7 miles. We started a little later in the day, so we missed the last tram ride back down so we walked the last 1.5 -2 miles on the road.

Getting near the top!

Trying to climb up the rocks. She saw a couple sitting farther up the waterfall and wanted to get up there too. After she was pretty soaked she found out there was a dry way to get up there :)

David relaxing on the hard rocks

First self timer with the camera. Should've seen me running back and forth :)

We made it back! ;)

Sunday night we went out to dinner to Pinnacle Peak. If you wear a tie, they cut it off, so Andrea wore one :)

After dinner, we went back to the house for a while and then we (us 4 "kids") decided to go out for frozen yogurt.

Just a couple shots before I left for the airport.

My flight left at noon from Tucson and arrived in Bradley a little before midnight. It was a quick adjustment from warm to cold and vacation to reality! Tuesday morning I had a quiz in my 8 am class. I didn't get much sleep that night since I got up at 6, but it was totally worth it!

Croghan, NY

This past weekend the young group traveled to Croghan and served lunch in church. Saturday we met at church at 7:45 (well we were supposed to anyways). We got there just a little before 8 because Evan decided that around 7:35 was a good time to start packing.

Unlike last time, we made it to Croghan without any shredded tires!

We went to a sugar bush place and saw how they boiled sap to make syrup. It was pretty interesting....they had a huge thing of sap boiling, but it was in sections. The middle part was the closest to being done, so when it was done, the guy let it out into buckets and dumped it to be drained. Then he let some of the other sap into the "almost done" section.

Saturday night there was a potluck and singing at church. Saturday night I stayed at Ron & Eleanors with 6 other girls.
Amanda, me, Janelle, Julianne, Laura, Sarah Chelsea

Sunday was church and then we left after the afternoon service was over. Here's the whole group

We stopped in Springfield at Uno Pizza & Grill. Here's most of the table! The reservation was made for 29 people. This was the third restaurant that could/would take such a large group :) Just add 3 more people on each side and then one on the end. Someone walked behind me to go to the bathroom and they said, "Oh, how nice! A big class!" Ha, a class alright...what grade are we then?! :)
The line in the photo is to show you where the other end of the table is! It is right above the last persons head.

Arizona Part 2

Friday morning we headed to Cave Creek, AZ where we met Heather & Andrea's mom and her husband at her husband's sisters place.
And by the way....the vehicle I'm standing next to is the one that I'm getting the end of May! :)

Hanging out in the backyard

We happened to wear the same shirts that day so we had to get a picture :)

The bigger dog had just been to the groomer's and had her nails painted purple. Never seen a dog with painted nails before!

After hanging out for a little while we went to some shops in town. This place had a ton of stuff.

Heather, Janet, Andrea

A store that had a lot of rocks. There had a big thing of crystal, I think a couple tons, that was for sale for $255,000 (I think...)

That night we went to a cowboy dinner and then watched the first round of amateur bull riding.

Getting ready...

Go! Sorry for the blurry photo....it's the best I had. They were moving too fast!

The little kids that rode sheep

The winner of the sheep riding

We were standing literally right in front of the music so it was really loud. (this one takes a while until they actually come out of the pen, you can skip to about 58 seconds if you don't want to listen to the guy talk)

This one gets blurry at the end but it's still really cute. A young boy riding a calf

David, Norm, Jeff, Carole, Janet, Andrea, Heather, Heidi

This was probably the most fun day!
