Our Family Christmas

We had our family Christmas Saturday morning. We had our Christmas breakfast, creamed eggs on toast for a "brunch". Then after we opened our gifts.

No worries, this is not a real gun :) Mom saw this at Peebles. It is a lighter for the grill or candles (etc.) that looks like a gun.

Mom and all her gifts. How long do you think it will take for that bag of Jelly Belly's to be gone?? ;)

David with his new tie and me with my new shirt.

David got all us kids a shirt. They are a nice bright orange. Can't miss us now :)

Merry Christmas!

Hope you all have (or had depending on when you read this :)) a wonderful Christmas!

For our Christmas picture we went to Snipsic Lake out on the rocks. We also had a mini photo shoot :)

This is the picture we used on the card:
As you can see we all brought a prop depending on what we do.

Here's photos from our mini photo shoot:

Gerber Christmas

Well, our Gerber Christmas was a success! A night filled with food, family, and fun! :)

Here's our food table (without the food)

Snowflakes that I saw on Amanda's blog. These are awesome and sooo easy to make!

The one in the middle is bigger. I used an 8 1/2 in. square piece of paper for each section (there are 6 sections per snowflake). The smaller ones are a 6 1/2 in. square.

The thing on the left Evan made at school. On the right are the sparkly pinecones.

Instead of everyone exchanging names, we do a Yankee Swap. Everyone except the younger kids are included. This is Andy and his hat thingy.

A. Dawn had forgotten to bring a gift, so she wrapped up our family picture from the front windowsill.

Evan gave Sam a John Deere flashlight tractor.

After, we played charades using Pictionary cards.

Christmas is here already??

Christmas sure has snuck up pretty fast!

Tonight is the Gerber Christmas at our house. So we are cleaning and cooking the day away!! :)

A week ago or so, we went to Carla's Christmas chorus concert (betcha can't say that 5 times fast ;)) It was 4-6 grade. Fourth grade sang first and then the fifth and sixth grades sang together.

Here's some pics and a video.

Bella K

Sorry, this picture is a little blurry, my camera doesn't have that great of a zoom. I need to get another lens.
This is Colin G

This is just the 5th and 6th grade chorus.

This is everyone, they sang a song together.

For the video you have to go here because blogger wasn't uploading it.

Sparkly Pinecones

This is my first DIY ever. And I got the idea from Betsy.

I thought they looked very wintery and looked pretty easy to make! So I picked up some Mod Podge, glitter, and foam brushes (not the greatest choice but they worked) at Michael's when I was out shopping.

Only problem was we don't have those kind of pinecones in our yard. We just have the long, skinny ones that don't look as good. But, when I got home right outside the breeze way there was a branch with those kind of pinecones on it! Amazing!! Mom had picked up the branch from the side of the driveway. Only thing, the branch fell from a tree in the neighbors yard and the rest are extremely high in the air and I can't reach them :(

A. Mare to the rescue :) I'm getting some more from her.

But anyhow, here's how I did it:

First, apply some mod podge to the whole pinecone. Then before it dries, sprinkle the glitter over the top. I also did the bottoms, just cause it looked better.

Then I got some fake snow and put a little in the bottom of a trifle bowl and just put in the pinecones.

They really are sparkly, but you can't tell by looking at the pictures.

If you set it under a light, it really sparkles!

I forgot to mention...

I was going to mention in my last post that I got my final art project back today!

Remember this?

I got a B+!!!

My teacher wrote on the paper:

You have made the most improvement of anyone in class! (!!) I appreciate your hard work and stick-to-itiveness."

:) :) :)

Like my title? (even though it is a little messed up :)) Know what that means?? It means I'm happy!

Know why I'm happy??

School is DONE for the semester!! I don't have to go back until January 18th :) :)

Now I'll have soo much time on my hands I won't know what to do!

JK, I'm sure mom will keep me busy :)

And here's some happy/funny pictures:

They are wearing the wig to my My Twin Doll. The glue came undone and they were having fun with it. But now its glued back on.

You asked for it

Rules:
-No making fun
-If you leave a comment you have to be nice other wise it may be deleted (hint hint Evan!) :)

And for the great reveal....
Ta da!

I guess its not too bad considering I'm the one who drew it!

Look similar? I skipped the soap dispenser, figured it would be easier without it :)

Finally...

Another post! Man, it's been so long since I did one. But guess what, school is almost done!!!! My last day is December 13th :)

Remember when I posted about the bedroom set and my next project??

Well, it's finally finished!!!
Here's the before and after picture

and the after...

I found:
-lots of clothes that Mom had thrown in there to go through later
-some puzzles
-lots of bags
-bunch of other junk
-and lots of a little dust :)

So glad that is done! It looks a lot better.

And speaking of the end of school...

For my art class final, I have to draw a picture that involves water. So, I chose to draw the kitchen sink, and then when I was ready, I turned on the water.

Like my easel? :)

My tools...

This is what my picture looks like (kind of). I zoomed in so I didn't have as much to draw :)

For the water I ended up turning on the water and taking a picture and drawing from that so I didn't waste a lot of water.

I may or may not show you the end result. It probably won't look so good...
